About: Cornerhouse is Manchester’s international centre for contemporary visual arts and film. Located in the heart of the city and open seven days a week, we have 3 floors of contemporary art galleries, 3 screens showing the best of independent cinema, a bar, café and bookshop. We also operate Cornerhouse Publications, an international distribution service for visual arts books and catalogues. Cornerhouse’s patrons are: Danny Boyle, Damien Hirst and Helen Mirren.

About: LiveWire

LiveWire is a Cornerhouse education project for 14 to 18 year olds who want to get creative and work with experienced artists and filmmakers. Film, art and multi-technology projects and events run throughout the year and are free! About: Exposures

Our popular annual film festival for students - from school pupils to post graduates. It promotes and encourages filmmaking through competitive screenings, career guidance, industry events (e.g. film funding), and masterclasses. Competition winners have not only won filmmaking equipment, paid placements and a distribution deal but have found the festival accolade has led to employment, film funding, and further festival prizes at national festivals. An exciting strand of exposures UK student film festival showcases the best films made by students at schools and colleges in the North West area. Some of the work comes directly from schools and colleges whilst other short films are from independent young people.
